Marie Vigil Weavings

6 6

Nestled close to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains is the village of Cundiyó, where Marie Vigil continues her family’s weaving tradition, using methods passed down from generations.  Her work includes Chimayó and Río Grande style weaving – vests, runners, and intricate tapestries.  Following her family’s unique method, she uses bobbins made from wild reeds to wind her vegetal hand-dyed Churro yarn.  She offers a cozy, intimate setting to view the authentic weaving process and shop for stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces.
