Karen Martinez says that weaving is in her blood. It's a family tradition that has nurtured seven generations, and counting. As children, she and her siblings slept in bunk beds to leave room for the walking looms built for each child, and passed through the family like clothing. Today, her upstairs home studio holds 11 looms to accommodate production work, Martinez's classes, and her own creations – which favor traditional Saltillo designs and her stunning color gradations. Shop in the downstairs gallery for work ranging from placemats to collectable wall pieces, and everything in between.
