MUSEUM OF INTERNATIONAL FOLK ART
Needles + Pins: Textiles and Tools is ongoing at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, through April 13, 2008. Hands-on activities are available for visitors, along with demonstrations by textile artists, lectures and workshops. NATIONAL HISPANIC CULTURAL CENTER
Maya Textile Art Collections of the Centro de Textiles del Mundo Mayo opens Sept. 28 through January 13, 2008 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque. Related programs include:

  • Sept 29-30, 10 AM: Textile Art Trunk Show
  • Nov 17, 10-5: Textile Art Community Day; Living with Textiles Lecture, 10:30-Noon; and Why We Wear Huipiles Lecture, 2-3:30 p.m.
  • Also visit the two companion exhibits, Threads of Color: Guatemalan Textiles from the John Shaw Collection and Mayan Indians - Weavers of Color.
